Oh man, this thread is just so weird when looked in retrospect.

I'm so glad that I wasn't here when the name was revealed.
I was just sitting on a chair and suddenly browsing the Nintendo site at my workplace in Basingstoke when it happened.

My thoughts about the name was just like bigjko said earlier in this thread.

EDIT: Strangely, after seeing the little video of the little i's hopping around playign videogames, I suddenly liked the name..

I thought about the name a lot when it was revealed, I ended up thinking that this is a name that only Nintendo could come up with, to me it just basically tells that "Gaming is fun, Nintendo is all about having fun".

I watched Nintendo's E3 conference a few days ago and holy crap I laughed my ass off when Reggie said those couple of awesome and unforgettable quotes:

The first one is just so true, and the second was excellent, because I now know how much crap the name revealing got in the internet.

There is no such thing as bad publicity, Nintendo got just what they wanted, EVERY GAMER around the world was talking about Wii when the name was revealed and also all the other people, who might not be gamers at all. Most of the people were cracking jokes, but the most important part is that people who didn't even know that Nintendo had a new console coming, they do now.

And now that E3 is already gone a month ago, everyone pretty much have seen it themselves, Nintendo completely ruled the E3.

Me still thinks it's one of the dumbest names for a product I've ever heard.

I liked the name better when everyone hated it.
