Comment on Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures scene of the week:
^silly. Wallace and gromit has been around for 20 years and is more than a little famous (including an oscar winning film). Telltale has consistently aimed for big recognizable properties with cult fan bases.

I don't understand what you're trying to say..
I always assume that a game tries to get native voice actors for its languages, native or otherwise, so while I can be critical of a translation scrip wise and language wise (though I've never understood why the voice actors don't correct bad translations in their script) my critique on voice actors are based on their -acting-. Tone of voice, overacting, no subtlety etc.
That shouldn't be so negatively changed by them possibly not being native english speakers, after all there are several very known actors who've spent their career acting in a language they don't even speak.

And non-native games get more flack for the simple reason that most games today are produced in non-English countries. Coupled with not that high budget and often little regard for the English voices/marketing means almost every game released the last years has had inferior voice work.

Haven't played Lost Crown so can't judge that, I absolutely hated the girl in Gray Matter, that sequence was horrible to listen to, and I felt several of the smaller characters had bland voice work. Was that game originally produced in another language and then translated? I have no clue..
Comment on Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures scene of the week:
i think it was the last real Adventure of Telltale and the start of going after famous Tales to Tell instead of bringing back the forgotten Adventures of the Past to to the new generation ... but it was good anyways , kinda Sam&Max Style but not as great though
Comment on Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle article:
Having played it for 2 hours I would say the game is mediocre. I'd rate it with 2.5-3 stars I hope it gets better later on.
Comment on Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle article:
I didn't like this game. In fact I REALLY didn't like it. I would have given it 1 star, and even that is generous of me.

3.5 stars! Wow. Nothing against the reviewer but that's higher than my personal favorite game of last year - Baron Wittard.

Comment on Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle article:
excuse my rash Judgment ,and thank you for clarifying this, as this makes more sense!..
Comment on New trailer spotted from The Dark Eye news post:
The german version of the trailer uses the voice actor of Christopher Judge as the narrator and they said he only worked for the trailer. I guess you won't find the international version narrator in the game either.

But there's a thing that kept me wondering over the years. As soon as it's mentioned somewhere that a game's native language version isn't english it get's lots of complains about the voice acting.
I can't remember anyone complaining about the original voice acting in The Lost Crown, although I found it horrible. Nonetheless, it didn't distract me from enjoying a great game.

Generally I think people are overly critical when it comes to translations. Even if you can see that there's differenting quality.
In this case, how can you judge something on the basis of just some ripped phrases without context? And why do the producers think it's a good idea to present their game in this fashion? The trailer just feels cluttered.
Comment on Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle article:
That review wasn't for So Blonde but for So Blonde Back To The Island (an 'alternate' take on So Blonde which was only released for Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii). The 'original' So Blonde got 4 stars, So Blonde Back To The Island 3 stars and Captain Morgane 3.5 stars.
Comment on New trailer spotted from The Dark Eye news post:
Wow, that voice acting was horrible!

I don't usually skip games because of voice acting (I finished the original version of Keepsake for god's sake), but when watching this I was seriously contemplating if I could handle playing with those voices.
Please don't use that narrator!
Comment on Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within article:
I disliked this game do much back when I first played it. I was younger and I didn't go in objectively at all. I had wanted it to look and play like Sins of the Father, thus my disappointment ruined the follow up. Needless to say, I never finished.

Upon revisit however, I am greatly enjoying this. The ill will I had towards it has now dissipated, I have excepted its style and graphics (probably with the help of later games I played with similar graphics) and I went in with the intention of focusing on the story. Well the story has pulled me in. I just finished up Chapter 1, and look forward to giving a final review, but thus far, while it still probably won't overtake SotF in my book, and might be a bit overrated, I'm glad I'm giving it a second chance.
Comment on Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle article:
i like Astrid Beulink or PolloDiablo.reviews and previews as well, but before i post my previous Comment Mr.Jack ,i revised her So Blonde review and two things gotten my attention ; the 1st was that she gave C.M a bigger rating more than S.B, ...and the 2nd was the she on the other hand had put the easiness of S.B in the Con box!... i am not complaining about her ratings for both as much as it seemed to me that she (for some reason) was a little more generous here (imo)
Comment on Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle article:
I agree with FreakGlista, the game is ok nothing more. It lacks the charm So Blonde had...
And don´t you just love the way Nell moves when she's a kid? A brick has better moves... ;-)
Comment on Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle article:
Adventurere No.1, as you noted, the "but" changes the context completely. The ease of the puzzles isn't a pro; it's saying despite the ease, the puzzles are still fun.
Comment on Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle article:
The game is Ok I guess. The artwork is beautiful, dialogs and accents are so so but clicking after each dialogue line to continue is simply frustrating. Mini games are not fun at all (for me at least), sometimes annoying and some puzzles are just ridiculous. What I hated the most in this game was saving the game progress. You always overwrite an old save file, so you know what that means, if you get stuck like I did, you have to start all over again. (I got stuck behind fathers desk on the ship once, in family house when I went in with Diegos help which was not the right thing to do according to the game plan and so on ...). On the other hand I really enjoyed listning to the soundtrack. After all of this I give this game 3 out of 5.

like the visual a lot

Comment on The Walking Dead: Episode One: A New Day article:
I really was confused with the controls at first. This coming from the PC version of course. But after I figured it out, it was very enjoyable. I love the Walking Dead tv show, so that definitely helped in my decision to get it. That being said, the voice acting was well done and while there wasn't really any puzzles, so far it's been a great story. Very intense and I'm looking forward to episode 2. Telltale has a history of coming out with some fun adventure games. IMO they knocked it out of the park once again. The reviews have been very positive for many sites I've visited. Personally I agree. It's at least a 4/5.
Comment on The Walking Dead: Episode One: A New Day article:
Telltale did a good job using the graphic novel style art to hide the low-quality graphics. It's a backhanded compliment of course, but I am serious. The heavy lines make the art look stylish without sacrificing all of the realism. It's obvious for this game, but its a pretty simple trick too, especially for a low-budget production with an quixotic goal...ie hit/miss adventure developer targeting the wsad masses.
Comment on Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle article:
All things considered, the score seems rather generous. The game wasn't terrible, but it was slap bang in the middle of mediocrity.

Frankly, had I never played it I would have suffered no loss.
Comment on Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle article:
i am not happy to see easiness is mentioned in the Pros Box (though its followed by ... ..But fun puzzles!)
Comment on Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle article:
Took a bit longer than usual, since Astrid did double duty for both PC and DS (and some PS3, as well!).
