I backed the wrong horse in the major categories, both over- AND underestimating the Academy. On the one hand, kudos for having the guts to give the major awards to a silent movie, but then again, it's a movie about Hollywood so it's understandable that the Academy would give (in their minds) themselves the Oscar for Best Movie (especially since The Artist hides the fact that it's basically a French movie so well).
I got 13 out of 24 correct. Not one of my best predictions. Had a few worse ones before, though, so I'm not too disappointed.
Still have to watch the broadcast, though. It was on between 2 and 6 a.m. here, and I had to work in the morning, so I didn't pull an all-nighter. Instead I'll just watch it later tonight. I don't mind knowing who wins in advance - I'm just curious to see how Billy Crystal does (the best two Oscar broadcasts I've seen were the last two Crystal hosted, so I'm pretty excited)...
