In preparation for the North American release of Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened this September, a playable demo of the game was unveiled recently by cdv USA and Focus Home Interactive.

In The Awakened, the third Sherlock Holmes adventure from Frogwares, the great detective and his trusty cohort, Dr. Watson, find themselves traveling around the world to investigate numerous disappearances that have been linked to a cult devoted to Cthulhu.

Taking place at the start of the game, the demo begins at Holmes' familiar residence of 221b Baker Street before moving out onto the nearby streets of London. Reportedly offering about one hour of gameplay, the demo allows players to control Holmes, with Watson assisting, as the pair "investigate crime scenes, interview witnesses, search for clues and use a broad set of tools to examine them."
