‘Tis the season for giving, and this week Adventure Gamers is in a very giving mood. But what do you give the reader who may or may not have everything? Why, a one-way vacation to a self-destructing deserted island, of course, with only a lone animal companion, your wits, and whatever you can scrounge to survive. For an adventure gamer, it’s the gift that keeps on giving!
If the premise sounds familiar, that’s because it’s the story behind Kheops Studio’s Return to Mysterious Island 2. All that hard work and creative MacGyvering by young Mina after her shipwreck in the original game lands her right back where she started for the sequel, and a little worse for wear. Wounded in a crash during her “rescue”, now it’s up to Mina’s buddy Jep to nurse her back to health. Soon, however, the two discover that the health of the very island is at stake, as a poisonous green gas threatens to kill all life if they can’t stop it in time.
Return to Mysterious Island 2 has been around for a while, but only in downloadable form until recently. With the retail release of the game in the UK, however, now players can finally hold a copy in their hands. Better yet, six lucky winners can do so for free! Well, free of charge, that is, not effort and clever deductive reasoning.
Courtesy of Iceberg Interactive, we are pleased to offer up six boxed copies of the game this holiday season, but to be eligible to win, you first need to correctly answer the three quiz questions below. Not to worry – you’ll whip through them like yanking bows, paper, and ribbon off a package under the tree. If you do find the tape a little too thick to cut through, rest assured that all the answers you need can be found in our review of the game or the Return to Mysterious Island 2 website.
The contest will run for one week, ending Monday, December 28th, and winners will be notified by elves… I mean, email. But don’t wander off while you wait, as there are more Christmas week game giveaways coming!
