completed contest: Twice the Bone giveaway

Everyone together now!

The tale Bone's connected to the... book Bone
The book Bone's connected to the... game Bone
The game Bone's connected to the... cow Bone....

Okay, now that everyone is stuck humming that tune for the rest of the day, it's time to launch Bone Week at Adventure Gamers! That's right, with The Great Cow Race hoofing it towards the finish line, we figured we'd milk the event for everything it's worth. (Yes, I promise the cheesy dairy gags will end eventually, though probably later rather than sooner.)

By now there's surely no one left that doesn't know about the episodic series of Bone adventures from Telltale Games. But in the event that you banged your head this morning and developed a case of adventure amnesia, Bone is based on the epic comic story by Jeff Smith. The first episode, Out from Boneville, introduced gamers to the three Bone cousins Fone, Phoney, and Smiley. After being kicked out of their hometown due to another of Phoney's ill-advised schemes, the cousins become separated and lost in a strange new land filled with talking bugs, red dragons, fun-loving possums, and quiche-craving monsters. With the help of the adorable Thorn and her grizzled Gran'ma Ben, the cousins are at last reunited in the town of Barrelhaven, but completely oblivious to the deepening, sinister plot forming around them.

Episode two of the series centers around the — you guessed it — annual cow race, and promises to be bigger, better, and certainly more bovine than its predecessor. But best of all, it's due out in a mere two days. And with Telltale's recent price reduction, it's also more affordable than ever. But nothing's better than FREE, right? So here's your chance to have your cud and chew it, too!

Courtesy of Telltale, we are pleased to offer prizes to four lucky winners. The grand prize includes packaged versions of the first two episodes of Bone games and the first two colourized Scholastic books of Jeff Smith's original comics. The three runners-up will each receive free downloadable versions of the two games from Telltale. But you'll have to act fast! In order to beat the Wednesday release deadline, the contest is only open until noon EST on Wednesday, April 12th.

There's also the matter of the three questions below that you'll need to correctly answer. Oh sure, they may LOOK easy, but just wait until the pressure is on and you're breaking out into a cold sweat, remembering too late that you don't test well. But not to worry — we've provided help to the quizzically challenged among you. The answers you need can be found somewhere in our review of episode one or our preview of episode two. So bone up, because there are no excuses. Even a stupid, stupid rat creature can't flunk an open book test.

Winners will be e-mailed immediately after the contest closes, so you'll know right away if a shopping trip to Telltale is in order on Wednesday afternoon. For four lucky people, it won't be. Now, what are you waiting for? Get mooving. (Argh! Sorry about that.)
