completed contest: Sam & Max: Season Two giveaway

Marketplace, shmarketplace realities. Pffft. Remember the dark ol' days when we were all crying ourselves to sleep (okay, maybe that was just me) at night over the cancellation of the agonizingly-almost-finished Sam & Max: Freelance Police? Who knew then that such a tragedy just might be the best thing to happen to Steve Purcell's beloved crimefighting — and often crime-causing — duo. Now here we are a mere few years later, having been treated to more Sam & Max gaming goodness than you can shake a Wii remote at (though that's coming, too).

In fact, this turnabout has happened so fast that it's hard to believe we're nearing the end of not the first but the second season of episodic Sam & Max adventures. But it's true. And following the five-star(!) Chariots of the Dogs , the series has arguably reached an all-time high, even as it prepares to go all to hell (quite literally) in the upcoming What's New, Beelzebub? in the season finale.

It may be one episode shorter than last year, but what Sam & Max: Season Two lacks in volume, it's more than made up for in cross-country, cross-galaxy... heck, cross-dimensional adventure. From Santa's workshop to Easter Island, from Mexican mariachis to Eurotrash vampires, from the beginning of time to life after death (or at least, to undeadness after life), everyone's favourite canine shamus and hyperkinetic rabbity thing have seen it all and done it all in Season Two, and for the most part lived to tell the tale.

And speaking of... Tale... err... Telling, you might soon be taking that adventure yourself alongside the Freelance Police, as we are pleased to offer a free downloadable version of the complete Season Two to three lucky winners, courtesy of Telltale Games. That's right, the prospect of all five episodes in one giant Sam & Max miasma is right at your fingertips. Winners will also be eligible for the post-season upgrade to a disc version from Telltale for just the cost of shipping. Already purchased the series? No problem! You can even give your prize to someone else as a gift. Because let's face it, short of threatening them, buying friends is the easiest way to become popular. We're sure Max would approve.

Oh... but first there's that small matter of answering the three brain-eating... I mean, brain-racking quiz questions below. That's right, not everything can be solved with a Luger. Rest assured, however, that a little freelance detective work can conceal an absence of smarts, as all the answers you need can be found at the official Sam & Max website (click the individual episode links for details).

The contest will run for only four days, ending on Friday, April 11th, just in time for the worldwide release of the season finale, so get your entry in today!
