completed contest: Sam & Max: Season One - Wii giveaway

At long last, Max has finally gotten his wish. At least, I assume he’s been wishing to appear on Nintendo’s home console, as the first time Sam smacked him out of the way in Season One, Max shouted “Wiiiiiii!!” for all to hear. And again and again and again ever since. (Right, like YOU didn’t do it again on purpose.) Okay, so maybe that was technically “Wheee!!”, but he yelped it so gleefully that the idea wasn’t lost on Telltale Games and The Adventure Company, who have now released the first episodic season of Sam & Max for the Wii.

It’s been quite a while since the release of Culture Shock; so long that we’ve almost forgotten about the turbulent events that once seemed destined to keep the Freelance Police shut out of the gaming scene. (And if you HAD forgotten, sorry to dredge up ugly memories once again.) But as we’ve all come to know, you just can’t keep a good canine shamus and hyperkinetic rabbity thing down. From that first episode launched in October 2006 to the season’s mind-blowing finale in Bright Side of the Moon, Sam & Max’s shenanigans included the likes of decapitating presidents, destroying reality as we know it, and some really, really bad driving into outer space and back in an effort to foil a mass hypnosis scheme so devious that Max wishes he’d thought of it.

But that was then and this is now, and now the crime duo have been unleashed on the Nintendo Wii in all its widescreen TV-vegging, couch-lounging goodness. And to help mark the occasion, we are pleased to offer three prizes even Bosco’s Inconvenience Store doesn’t carry. Courtesy of Telltale, two lucky winners will receive a free copy of the Wii version of Sam & Max: Season One and a single grand prize winner will receive the game PLUS the two-disc Season One soundtrack AND a paperback copy of Steve Purcell’s Surfin’ the Highway.

Two words, right? Suh. Weet. But hold on just a moment, as it comes with two caveats. The first is, while the contest is open to everyone, note that Wii games are region-encoded and these prizes are in NTSC format, so it will not play on Wii systems designed for PAL. (A PAL version of Season One is currently in production, but is not the version up for grabs here.) The second is that… well, first you need to win it first. And to do that, you’ll need to answer the three fiendish quiz questions below. And by “fiendish” I mean “brain-dead easy if you look them up at the game’s official website”.

The contest will run for one week, ending Friday, October 31st. No tricks, just treats, so get your entry in today.
